Jenn Fossay from Warren Collegiate visited Rosser School to read her book about how plastics can harm our watersheds/environment. Thanks for the bamboo toothbrushes! They are a good alternative to the plastic toothbrushes that are used and disposed of. This was a ‘Caring for Watersheds’ project that Jenn was completing.
On Friday November 22, Rosser School visited Grosse Isle school for a November Number themed community building afternoon. Students were in mixed groupings and participated in many numeracy themed stations. Students took part in problem solving, games, active math, artsy math and an escape room. Thanks to Grosse Isle School for hosting a fun afternoon!
Halloween pumpkin carving occurred at Rosser School on October 29, 2019. Students in grade 1/2 had a buddy from the grade 3/4 classroom. The Kindergartens worked as a team. All the students worked together to create some spooky masterpieces!
On Monday September 23, 2019 the Rosser Fire Department came to Rosser School. The students enjoyed the interactive presentation in learning about fire fighters and fire safety. Highlights included trying on firefighter gear, climbing on the fire trucks and reviving bags with fire safety materials.
Changes have occurred at Rosser School. The following are a few up the improvements made over the summer: New doors on cupboards in all classrooms: New furniture in classrooms: Hallways de-cluttered and painted: Shelves and hooks were removed from the Gym/MPR: New Lockers in the MPR room: New garbage and recycling bins for the outdoor classroom and entrance way: New TV to showcase student work and school pictures:
Rosser School had a field day on Tuesday June 25th. Stations included field games, water balloons, parachute games, an obstacle course bouncy castle, sumo wrestling, and a food craft making Oreo bees/crabs. Great fun was had by students, staff and parents. There was a BBQ lunch that was sponsored by the Rosser Elementary Parent Advisory Council (REPAC). Rosser School went to Camp Manitou on Monday June 17th for a fun end of year field trip! Thanks to the Rosser Elementary Parent Advisory Council for sponsoring this event. Thanks to all of the parents who volunteered to attend! Students participated in zip-lining, archery, fishing, bannock making, and gym games. The Bike Rodeo at Rosser School on June 14th was a great success! The day was filled with physical activity, safety, food and fun! The grade 3/4 class started off the day at Grosse Isle School and biked to Rosser. All students were able to ride the entire way! There were quick water and orange slice breaks along the way. There was a presentation from the South Interlake Regional Library at Rosser School on Thursday June 13th. The presentation gave information to K-4 students about their upcoming summer reading program. It was a fun presentation with an erupting volcano! On Thursday June 6th the grade 1 and 2 classroom had the chance to visit a dairy farm. They were able to learn about milk, the milking process, animal care and visit with some cows.
